The Umi Headwrap

Inspired by our friend Umi. Umi was a musician and performance artist that appeared regularly in small Lower East Side NYC venues in the late 80's through the mid-90's. She disappeared shortly after that, but during her time here, she was always seen wearing striking Headwraps in clubs and on the LES streets.

Our Mandala design, featured on the "The Umi Headwrap" was inspired by a prominent tattoo that Umi had on her chest, just below her neck. We miss her.
